Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 14, 2026

Handy 990 is a TOEIC-style reading and listening practice app. This Privacy Policy explains how the app handles information.

Information We Collect

Handy 990 can be used without an account. If you choose to sign in with Google or Apple, we receive account information made available by that provider, such as a unique account identifier, email address, and display name, so that we can create and manage your account.

The app stores practice answers, scores, review state, weakness analytics, streaks, achievements, settings, and other learning progress on your device. If you sign in, selected learning progress is uploaded to Firebase Cloud Firestore so that it can be backed up and restored on another device.

Analytics and Crash Reports

On supported mobile platforms, Handy 990 uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to collect usage and diagnostic information. This may include app opens, session duration, screens and features used, practice-session summaries, app locale, general account or subscription status, device and operating-system information, app version, crash logs, and non-fatal error details. Firebase may assign an app-instance identifier to help produce aggregate reports.

We use this information to understand how the app is used, improve its features, and diagnose reliability problems. We do not intentionally include your email address, display name, individual question answers, or other free-form content in analytics events, and we do not set an analytics user ID linked to your Handy 990 account.

Analytics and crash-report collection is enabled by default. You can disable both at any time in the app under Settings > Usage & crash reports.

Account and Cloud Backup

Cloud backup is optional and is available only while you are signed in. To back up your learning progress, please sign in with Google or Apple under Settings > Back up & sync. You can continue using Handy 990 without signing in, but progress stored only on your device will not be backed up to your account or available for restoration on another device.

Network Access

The app uses network access to authenticate signed-in users, back up and restore progress, download certain practice media, receive app announcements, and send analytics and crash reports. Handy 990 does not include advertising or use collected data for cross-app tracking.

If you use a web version of Handy 990 or visit our website, ordinary web server logs may be created by the hosting provider. These logs can include technical information such as IP address, browser type, requested URL, and request time. We use this information only to operate and secure the website.

Third-Party Services

We use Google Firebase services for authentication, cloud storage, analytics, crash reporting, and related app operations. If you choose Google or Apple sign-in, the selected identity provider processes your sign-in under its own privacy policy. App stores, operating systems, and hosting providers may also process information under their own privacy policies when you download, update, or access the app. We do not control those services.

Children's Privacy

Handy 990 is intended for general education use and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Data Sharing

We do not sell personal information or share it with advertisers or data brokers. Information is shared only with service providers needed to operate the features described in this policy, including Google Firebase and your selected sign-in provider.

Data Retention and Deletion

Local practice data remains on your device until you clear the app's storage or uninstall the app. If you sign in, your cloud backup is retained until you delete your account. Analytics, crash reports, and website server logs are retained only as needed for product analysis, operations, security, and troubleshooting, subject to the settings of the applicable service.

To request deletion of your Handy 990 account, email happysaur.dev@gmail.com.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the app or legal requirements change. The effective date above will be updated when changes are made.
